    MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

    Title: Golden West Pie
    Categories: Desserts, Pies
    Yield: 6 Servings

    1 c Pineapple juice
    2 1/2 c Orange juice
    1/2 c Sugar
    1/2 c Corn starch
    1/2 c Dates (12); pitted, packed
    2 tb Butter
    1/4 ts Lemon rind; grated
    1/4 ts Salt
    1 Pastry shell; baked
    2 c Whipped topping
    1/2 c Angel flake coconut

    Whiz first 5 ingredients in blender.

    Bring to a simmering boil.

    Cook for 3 minutes more stirring constantly until thickened.

    Add lemon juice & butter.

    Blend and chill.

    Fill baked pastry with the filling and top with whipped topping.

    Variation:

    Can use 2-1/2 cups pineapple juice, 1 cup orange juice, and 2 tb Lemon
    juice for a more tart pie.
