The one most annoying thing if the use of "those" and "that".
"Make sure that tray is stowed". "Make sure those bags go under the seat". Why not "Stow your tray" or "Put your bags under the seat".
I'm sure it's proper English but it just sounds so annoying to me.

No more than seeing it, as in...

...pilots [of] cabin staff...

announcements?

I noticed that tool. Of course it's been made fun of in numberous movies and TV. There's this one comedy song called "Flight Check" by Devo Spice about how bad it is to fly these days. At the end the plane's Captain comes on the radio saying, in that usual drawl, "Folks, I've just turned off the No Smoking sign. I figure, Hell, the plane's smoking, why shouldn't you." Funny tune.

He's telling them that everything is normal while CNN is playing an infographic of people running from the plane on fire...

I haven't seen that skit, and I don't think I'm familiar with what they're making fun of; but I do remember the skit from the 90s with David Spade (and another cast member, I don't remember her name) where they were rude to airline passengers and would repeatedly tell them "B'bye now" as they were getting off the plane.
